Well, the only true way to keep everything you have safe on the internet is never allow it on the internet in the first place.

Anything connected to the internet has a way in.

One of the most common mistakes people make is not changing passwords to the IoT (Internet of Things). IE fridges, security cameras, anything connected to the internet. Default passwords are just leaving the door open.  A password is like a lock on your door. If someone you did not trust has a key or you lost a key to your house you would change the locks. The same principle applies to all internet connected devices.

Internet connected devices are cool and make our lives easier. We just need to make sure that we are taking the time to secure all the ways into our lives as well.
